Modern Fireplaces

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

This weekend, we had the wonderful fortune to stay in a beautiful chalet in Chamonix, France for few days of skiing and time with close friends. The chalet was amazing but the best part was certainly the suspended modern fireplace in the living room (pictured above)! I adore all fireplaces but was especially taken with how modern this one was. I love the juxtaposition of modernity and warmth these mod fireplaces give . . .  here are a few other beautiful examples I found.

A sophisticated yet welcoming library by Celerie Kemble. I especially like her choice of brushed brass for the fireplace surround!

A minimalistic double sided fireplace set against painted brick. The living room is by Lulu de Kwiatkowski, via Lonny Magazine.

Spark Modern Fire ventless fireplace with a warm travertine surround. Featured in House Beautiful. As it's ventless, you could add it to any room! Incredible!

I love this unique outdoor living space! The stainless steel fireplaces was custom built by landscape designer Jay Griffith, via House Beautiful.

In this kitchen by LA based designer William Hefner, a small modern fireplace makes the room extra cozy.

A versatile outdoor hearth by Weber Flame. It's portable and uses gas so you can take it anyplace!
Finally, a picture of the view in Chamonix - I want to go back very soon!!!
